Uninterruptible Power Supply Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of UPS systems.
To provide backup power to critical infrastructure to ensure continuous operation during power outages or disturbances.
Design UPS systems based on client requirements and industry standards.
Conduct site surveys and feasibility studies to assess power needs.
Develop detailed project plans and schematics for UPS installations.
Oversee the installation and commissioning of UPS systems.
Perform regular maintenance checks on UPS systems to ensure optimal performance.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to UPS hardware and software.
Conduct load testing and battery maintenance to ensure system reliability.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and system performance.
Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams.
Train clients on the operation and maintenance of UPS systems.
Collaborate with other engineers and technicians to solve complex technical problems.
Ensure all UPS installations comply with local, national, and international safety standards.
Implement safety protocols and conduct risk assessments.
Stay updated on the latest industry trends, standards, and technologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in UPS system design, installation, and maintenance.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Power Quality Professional (CPQP) or Certified Electrical Engineer (CEE) are a plus.
Skills:
Requires deep understanding of electrical engineering principles, UPS technologies, and power distribution systems.
Strong knowledge of UPS systems, batteries, and power distribution.
Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Hands on experience with Hitachi, Gutor, Chloride, Borri, Emerson, Yuasa, SAFT makes. Experience in Hitachi UPS is preferred as installed base is large in the refinery.
