MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for maintenance of all conventional repeater sites that support the ASTRO radio system.
Be able to work with outside agencies concerning the system and provide escort services when needed.
Be responsible for radio programming and installing software updates when required.
Responsible for vehicle radio installations and repairs.
Responsible for reprogramming radios, over the air rekey (OTAR), and troubleshooting all associated equipment.
Identify improvements and make recommendations for enhancements and upgrades to the overall performance of the system.
Performs other duties and assignments as required.
