Basic Function:
Provides specialized technical guidance and support in the Maintenance engineering, troubleshooting and failure analysis of a wide range of electrical equipment in the plant such as large generators, motors, transformers, switchgear and other distribution equipment and control systems.
Reviews and participates in the design and development of related projects.
Prepares statement of requirements for new projects.
Participates in technical bid evaluation.
Assesses the reliability of critical control packages and makes recommendations for enhancement.
Provides assistance to development engineering, operations and assess the performance of major packages.
Study and recommend to enhance their reliability.
Directs troubleshooting of chronic problems, identifying reasons and recommending remedial action, and ensures that maintenance services are provided safely and efficiently.
Participates in the preparation of annual budgets and five-year plans.
